the gathering

Silverwing sat in the camp clearing, clawing at a tree root. She had heard yowls in the distance, coming from the gathering. She desperately wanted to know what was going on, but she was confined to camp. Just her luck.

"Goldenstar has sent a message." A strangly familiar cat walked up to Silverwing. "Well really it is from Dad, but still. He just walked right up and made me think! He thout 'tell Silverwing this, Lavenderbreath' and I was all like, well why don't you? And he went all, u know, I mean like all over me!" She sat down staring at Silverwing with that 'u know' look in her eyes. "You need to go down to the shore, like right now. blah blah blah, something about black water, blood and dying cats." She pointed with her tail to the enterence.

Silverwing thought about her punishment. But her doubt was gone quickly. She pelted out of camp and wove quickly through the trees and past bushes and she reached the lake shore, skidding to a halt.
