Apprenticeship

Nightpaw was grooming herself next to Brightpaw. They were waiting for their mentors. They were hoping that they would be allowed to train together.

"Do you think that we will be aloud to train together?" Brightpaw mewed, then she looked at herself in the Moonpool.

OOC-- Sorry we are by the stream not the pool and we need are mentors
"well if we can't we'll pratice together on our own time" purred Nightpaw.

"Yeah, but I think our mentors will be okay with it." Brightpaw mewed, drinking the water. I hope we can train together...

"hey, is that them?" mewed Nightpaw.

"I think those are foxs!" Brightpaw mewed softly, hidding in a bush.

"last time i wait for mentors outside of camp!" Nightpaw hissed softly, "oh where are they?!"

"I think there are two foxs. And they look young. But were are thier parents?" Brightpaw mewed.

"good thing we are down wind of them, mabye they will just pass us by, no way can we fight them!" hissed Nightpaw as the young foxes drew near. Suddenly the wind changed and the foxes could smell the hidden apprentices.

Brightheart saw one of the foxs noses in the bush. She unleashed her claws and slashes the fox's nose. The fow yellped and ran of. The other fallowed. "That was so close!" mewed Brightpaw. "We'd better go tell Softstar about that." she added.

"Yeah we are soo lucky!" purred Nightpaw. as they ran back to camp they saw there mentors who were racing to them. When they met up nightpaw told them about the foxes and how they scared them away.

Tornfur, Brightpaw's mentor and Blackclaw, Nightpaw's mentor, were shocked. "Are you all right?" Tornfur meowed. "I hope none are living in our territory." Blackclaw meowed as he unsheathed his claws. "I'd tear them to sheads."

"we still get to see the territory right?" mewed Nightpaw, " the foxes ran off"

"Yes, we will get to that." Tornfur meowed. "Just be cautious." Blackclaw added. "Here is the stream that leads to the Moonpool." Tornfur meowed as he points out the stream. "This is a really good place to find prey. Just be aware of the few trees around here." Blackclaw meowed.

Nightpaw nodded, "We could we use the trees to hunt, right?"

Brightpaw nodded. "Is it true we can go up trees to hide?" she asked.

"Well, since we're WindClan cats, we shouldn't use the trees to hunt. What we do is chase our prey. It helps keep us fast and felled with dexterity." Blackclaw meowed. Then Tornfur meowed. "We'll more than likely not use the trees to hide either. Most of the time it isn't useful. The only time we really should is if a fox or badger is chasing us and we're out numbered or we really can't fight them off."

Brightpaw nodded. "What's dexterity?"

Blackclaw thought for a few seconds for a definition. After he got one he replied, "Dexterity is a skill we have to move really fast. It's just another word for agility."

"Oh... Ok." she mewed. "Can we go to the moonpool?" Brightpaw asked.

"Umm, I am not to sure we should. We'd have to go through the medicine cat's. Usually they don't like us to go there without them knowing for some reason." Blackclaw meowed. "It might have to do with StarClan."

Brightpaw looked confused. She had herd stories about Starclan, but she didn't really know what Starclan was. "What is Starclan?" Brightpaw asked.

The wind had changed yet again. The bunch of cats on the other side of the stream could pick out no more than the slightest sent of another cat. A Wind Clan cat had been hiding behinde a boulder in the middle of the stream. At hearing the silly question 'What is Star Clan' she gave an anoyed hiss. She had never heard of an apprentince that had never heard of Star Clan. Or atleast not in Wind Clan. All Wind Clan kits try to escape the nursery just once to hear bits and bits of the elders conversation. That was how they learned about Star Clan. They got tired of sitting around and they joined in and started asking questions.She flatened herself to the rock at noticing she had done something so stupid as hiss when she was hiding from other cats. She couldnt hold on much longer. She thought she was going to fall soon. She was probaly the most water hating cat in all the clans. Her tail dipping into the stream, she gave an even louder hiss. Then, flatened as far as she could go, all she could do was wait and see if she was noticed.

Nightpaw pricked her ears, she hadn't been paying attention to her friends discussion and had thought she had heard a hiss from the stream. " Did you guys hear that?" mewed Nightpaw.

"What?" Brightpaw turned to Nightpaw.
